In this blog post you are going to read about four european countries and one asian countries that had absolute monarchs. The countries are Russia, Prussia, Austria, France, and China. Each absolute monarch had the same pattern. They would all build up there militaries and always have people watch their citizen. I truly feel that these monarchs are actually afraid of loosing all their power, so they over correct by building up their military, witch creates a problem because they have to take there people in order to pay for having such a built up military, and they also always have people to watch their citizens to make sure no rebelling is starting up.

Louis XIV from France became king at the age of five. After he got older, he could make the designs for his country. He first weakened the power of his nobles, by excluding them from his council. Also he increased power of the intendants. The intendants were people who would collect the taxes in the city and administered justice. Louis made sure that local officials communicated directly with him to make sure he knows what happing in his country. By making sure the local officials communicated directly to him to tell Louis what been going on in their cities, that shows how he afraid of losing his power by how he makes sure he knows what happens in most of his cities basically twenty-four seven.

In the Ming dynasty one of the emperors was Yongle from China. He was very powerful in the military aspect, he made sure he made the military very strong. He was very cruel to his enemies, he would often kill his political competitors to gain power and to eliminated other potential competitors that could lessen his power. He wanted power by killing people, by mass murdering them. Also, he would have spies to go spy on some of his potential competitors that might challenge his legitimacy and Absolutism. Yongle so afraid of losing his power he will kill off all his computers and have his own spies to spy on people. If he was a tough as people thought him to be, he would not be so insecure about people questioning hist legitimacy and absolutism.
Yongle Emperor
Frederick II was from Prussia. He had good military tactics. Frederick also believed the leader of the country should be the father to his country. When he was in power he was in a lot of wars. The reason he was in a lot of wars is because he wanted to expand like the other countries. He is called a absolute monarch because in order to pay for the wars and to supple the military, he has to get the money from somewhere. Frederick raised the taxes. Prussia and Austria were the two battling rivals. Austria duchess was Maria Theresa she good to her people and a very strong leader. In order to defend her country she had to reorganize the tax structure in her country. She did this by abolishing the rule of tax exemption on the landowners. Fredrick II was afraid of losing power in his country so he went out and started wars to get land, and one was with Austria. Maria Theresa was not afraid about losing her power she just had to do what was right for her country and what she needed to do to protect it from invaders.

I hope all of y'all learned that the absolute monarch only did what they did to protect there fame and fortune and power. They just took it to the extreme.
